Surroundings
Salobreña is a small village in the South of Spain ((Andalusia)), sheltered by the famous "Sierra Nevada" mountains and located on the "Costa Tropical". The coast is between Malaga and Almeria, extending from La Rábita, in the East to the Cantarriján naturalistic beach, of La Herradura, in the west.
Along the coast there are Watchtowers and Fortresses, characteristic elements of this landscape that was built in the XI century.
In the middle of the "Costa Tropical" there is village called Salobreña, a fantastic collection of white houses built on a great rock, below an old Arab Castle, and the green sea of a sugar cane valley with tropical fruits (mango, bananas, papaya, custard apples and avocado pears)
The climate in Salobreña is around 18º in winter, rising up to over 26º for the best part of the year. More than 320 sunny days!.

Much more than just a tourist destination, Salobreña is a Village which offers much more to its visitors than just sun and the beach. Salobreña, is a mixture of tradition, history in natural surroundings which makes it unique.
Salobreña has excellent beaches like La Guardia, El Peñón, or La Charca, all of them with free services such as showers, toilets, access facilities for handicapped people, First Aid station, police patrol, daily cleaning of the sand and water, hammocks for rent, umbrellas as well as aquatic boat rides. If you want more tranquillity you can choose other beaches like Caletón, Pargo, Cambrón, located around the hotel for diving or fishing.
During your visit we recommend a walk through the old section of the Village, a visit to the Arab castle, the vault, the church, the Avenue of Flowers, and drink in the superb views of this zone, as well as the nocturnal street market. Salobreña has an outdoor summer cinema, and a great number of bars, restaurants, pubs and discos to make your stay with us more enjoyable.
During the months of June to September the village Town Hall offers a diverse cultural programme with concerts in the Arab castle featuring the "New tendencies"concert as well as the "Lucero of the Dawn", some singing contests and flamenco dances, sports competitions, themed exhibitions, not forgetting the marine procession in honour to the Virgen del Carmen, celebrated on July 16th. Salobreña is right beside the most interesting places in the area. Salobreña is 65Kms away from the capital of the province, Granada 30 kms from the Alpujarras and 90 kms from the Sierra Nevada where snow sports can be enjoyed.
Paragliding and hang gliding can be practiced giving you a chance to get to know the nature areas, you can go hiking through our routes, climbing the Dragon Mountain and go on guided survival excursions, an introduction to adventure sports. If you desire something more tranquil you can explore on foot or by bicycle the variety of nature paths with subtropical plantations and the cliffs that silhouette the coast line.
The Golf Club is only to 5 minutes from our Apart hotel, on Playa Granada. The gastronomy in this quiet village is very varied, with chiringuitos and restaurants along our beaches where you can savour the local fish, subtropical vegetables from our fertile valley, fruit and Moorish dishes full of Arabic history, not forgetting our wonderful tradition, "El Tapeo".
